The 2016 Gwangmyeong Concept Design Competition, and the hunt for New Zealand and Korea’s next star of conceptual design, is in full swing. Weta Workshop, the Wellington design studio and practical effects facility heading the Kiwi limb of the competition, is pleased to announce that tablet company Wacom has generously come on board with incredible prizes for the winner and runner-up.
The winner of the New Zealand competition will receive Wacom’s creative pen display Cintiq 13HD, and the runner-up will take home Wacom’s pen tablet, the Intuos Pro Medium. The tablets retail at $NZD1149 and $NZD539 respectively.
Now in its third year, the Gwangmyeong Concept Design Competition is a joint competition run by New Zealand and Korea to find the next rising stars of conceptual design. The winner, in addition to their Wacom tablet, will accompany Weta Workshop co-founder and creative director Richard Taylor to South Korea for the 2016 Gwangmyeong Concept Design Symposium in late October.
Entries close at 5pm, September 19. Head to www.gcdc.co.nz to enter.
